Freedom Monument

Eyes of an eyewitness: a disabled person in a wheelchair does not cross the pedestrian crossing to the Freedom Monument. The portal has received an emotional letter from a reader about the bitter movement seen and experienced in the center of Riga, which describes an event about the mobility of a person with special needs.

We publish an uncensored text of the letter:

“Tonight, sitting on Mcdonald’s terrace, I noticed that someone in a wheelchair was trying to cross the carriageway (a large pedestrian crossing towards the Freedom Monument). anxious – a person standing helplessly in the middle of the road, everyone passes by, or stupid staring – complete indifference I hurried over and asked if I needed help, to which I received an affirmative answer.
